Car Insurance Alfa Romeo (Car Insurance). Ca insurance help with a dispute with another driver?Ca insurance help with a dispute with another driver? I've just had a minor accident, there were no witnesses but a van just pulled out of a parking space on the side of the road and hit me as I was driving up the road,I was going real slow as I was looking for a space to park myself,in fact I was driving right in the middle of the road as there was a massive lorry parked before the van and he took up so much of the road, you had no choice but to drive over the middle white line (just to point out there were no cars in the other lane). My car is fine but his van has smashed, mirror, lights, dents etc...He went mad saying it's his brand new works van and his boss will go mad and make him pay for the damage and he was stationary but I know he wasn't and there are no witnesses, the only vehicle around was the lorry and the driver was in the shop. How do I stand with this as I've never had anything like this happen before, also I did agree to swap insurance details and gave him mine first as soon as he had mine,he jumped in his van and sped off, luckily the company he works for was written on the van,as it's evening now I can't get hold of anyone but will telephone tomorrow morning to get his/their insurance details. If he left without giving details, it's possible you could report him to the police. Report it to the Police NOW as he left the scene of the accident without exchanging details do not leave it until the morning. Also inform your insurers and tell both exactly what happened. He should have looked properly before pulling out then he would not have to worry about paying for the damage. Unfortunately now that the vehicles have been moved it's your word against his. Report him to the police. He left the scene without giving his details. Hello If he didn't swop details report it to the police, its a hit and run and that shows his guilt straight away It doesn't matter what his boss says about the damage if he don't want damage he shouldn't put it in the hands of a bad driver Auto parts : Fender Flare Trim Acura 1995 . I have a 2008 Wrangler JK Unlimited. I was out with a friend who has a Chevy truck, and found his offered a much softer ride on the trails. After a day out with my Jeep, I feel beat-up and knocked-around. His truck barely noticed a number of the bumps that sent my Jeep rocking all over the place. I assume that there's an advantage to having a hard suspension, but I don't do anything all that extreme, so having a softer ride would be nice. Alfa Romeo . How to Replace a Chevy Van Turn SignalTurn signals warn other motorists before you intend to turn, and can help to prevent an accident, especially on a vehicle with large blind spots like a Chevy Van. Dim, malfunctioning or broken taillights are a hazard and in most areas are illegal. Fortunately, most malfunctioning taillights are a result of either a burned out bulb or a corroded or nonfunctioning light fixture, all of which can easily be replaced by the vehicle owner. Difficulty:Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Phillips screwdriver Flat-blade screwdriver Socket set 12-volt test light Electrician's pliers Barrel crimp connectors Replacement light bulbs Replacement turn signal fixtures Replacement tail light housingRemoving the Front Turn Signal Step by Step : 1 Disconnect the ground cable from the negative battery terminal by loosening the nut on the retaining clamp and pulling the clamp off the post. 2 Remove the four screws that connect the headlight/parking light/turn signal trim piece to the grille and remove the trim piece. 3 Remove the three screws that connect the parking light/turn signal assembly retaining ring to the radiator core support. 4 Remove the retaining ring and the lens cover. 5 Remove the light bulb. 6 Use a 12-volt test light to test the operation of the light fixture. A test light usually looks like a screwdriver with a pointed end and a long wire coming out of the handle. Turn the key to the "run" position and switch the turn signal on. The clip on the end of the test light wire should be attached to a metal part on the vehicle's body, preferably an unpainted surface. Then place the test light's probe on the positive contact point in the center of the light fixture. The light in the handle should flash with the same rhythm as the turn signal. If the fixture is working, simply replace the bulb; if the the test light does not light up, go on to the next Step to replace the fixture 7 Remove the two screws that connect the light fixture to the radiator core support. 8 Cut the wiring as close to the fixture as possible on early models. Later models will have a wiring connector that you can pull apart. Do not cut the wiring on models with a connector. Reinstalling the Front Turn Signal Step by Step : 1 Use barrel crimp connectors to connect the positive and negative electrical leads together on early models. Cut half an inch of insulation off the end of each wire. Thread the wires into each end of the barrel connector, then crimp the ends of the connector with an electrician's pliers. 2 Position the fixture into the radiator core support and reinstall the two screws that retain it. 3 Install the light bulb. 4 Reinstall the parking light/turn signal lens and the retaining ring. 5 Reinstall the headlight/parking light/turn signal trim piece. 6 Reconnect the ground cable to the negative battery terminal. Removing and Replacing Rear Turn Signals on Early Models Step by Step : 1 Remove the four screws that secure the tail light/brake light/turn signal housing cover lens and remove the lens. 2 Remove the light bulb. 3 Test the fixture using a 12-volt test light. If it works, simply replace the bulb; if it doesn't, move on to the next Step. 4 Remove the four nuts on the interior side of the fixture that connect it to the body. 5 Cut the wires as close as possible to the fixture. 6 Connect the turn signal, back-up light and negative electrical leads with barrel crimp connectors. Match the colors of the wires from the leads to the new fixture. 7 Position the fixture in the body and reinstall the four nuts that secure it. 8 Install the light bulb. 9 Reinstall the tail light/brake light/turn signal lens. Removing and Replacing the Rear Turn Signals on Later Models Step by Step : 1 Locate the tail light wiring harness. On later models, the turn signal can be accessed from the interior of the vehicle. There will be two wiring harnesses. The turn signal will be the lower one. 2 Twist and pull the plastic connector to disengage it from the tail light housing. 3 Remove the bulb. 4 Use a 12-volt test light to test the connector. If it works, simply replace the bulb; if it doesn't, proceed to the next Step. 5 Cut the old harness out and replace with a new one using barrel crimp connectors. Match the color of the wiring on the new harness with the wiring in the vehicle. 6 Install a light bulb. 7 Push the connector into the tail light housing and twist until it seats. Removing and Reinstalling the Rear Taillight Housing on Later Models Step by Step : 1 Remove the four to seven screws (depending on the year of your vehicle) that secure the housing to the body. They will be located around the perimeter of the housing. On later models, the rear taillight lens and housing are one piece. 2 Pull the housing away from the body. 3 Twist and the pull the light bulb fixtures away from the housing 4 Insert the light bulb fixtures into the new housing and twist until they seat properly. 5 Push the housing into position and reinstall the the screws that connect the housing to the body. Tips & Warnings Solder electrical connections as opposed to using crimp connectors for better protection against corrosion and electrical faults. Electrical wiring can become brittle with age. On older vehicles, be careful not to damage the wiring while handling it.
Alfa Romeo . How to Replace a Turn Signal Flasher on a 2003 Chevrolet SilveradoThe turn signal flasher on your 2003 Chevrolet Silverado is responsible for making your turn signals blink and making the audible clicking noise you hear when the turn signals are activated. Should the flash fail, the turn signals will no longer blink; also, the click noise will often become delayed and change noticeably in pitch and frequency if it sounds at all. The flashers are inexpensive and easily replaced. You can purchase one at most auto parts retailers and have it swapped out in less than 10 minutes. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Flashlight Replacement flasher Step by Step : 1 Use the flashlight to look underneath the driver-side dashboard and find the fuse panel. 2 Locate the old flasher on the back side of the fuse panel. The flasher looks like a small tin canister. 3 Pull the old flasher out of its socket by hand. This may require a little effort to get yourself in the right position to grab it properly. 4 Plug the new flasher into the flasher socket by lining up the prongs and pushing it gently, but forcefully, into the socket. Make sure it is fully seated. 5 Push the turn signal stalk to one direction or the other to verify the new flasher works. Tips & Warnings There are two styles of flashers---a short one and a tall one. Consult your Silverado's specific owner's manual to determine which style you need to purchase. The short flasher has a higher pitch, the tall one a deeper pitch. In most vehicles, they are interchangeable. Take your wire or taper feeler gauge and locate the proper wire (if your spark-plug gap specifications say .035, look for this number near one of the wires on the gauge). Then slip that gauge wire between the two electrodes on your old plug. Figure 12-11 shows why you should never use a flat feeler gauge for this purpose. The reading will be inaccurate. Round gauge Alfa Romeo . Car ramps for runaway cars like trucks?
Ford Taurus X. * Flat gauge Wrong The gauge wire probably has a lot of room to wiggle around in. This may be because your old plug has worn down its center electrode, causing a gap that is too large. If the gauge goes in and out with a lot of room on either side, the gap is too large. If the gauge can't fit between the center and side electrodes, the gap is too small, which means that the spark plug is not burning the fuel/air mixture efficiently. Alfa Romeo . Is it nice and cylindrical, like the center electrodes on your new spark plugs? Has the electrode's flat top worn down to a rounded lump? Or has it worn down on only one side? Chances are it's pretty worn because it's old. When the center electrode wears down, the gap becomes too large. When you do your tune-ups yourself, you'll probably check your plugs more often and replace them before they get too worn to operate efficiently. 6. Clean the plug. Then either gap it or replace it with a new one, following the instructions in the next two sections. To clean a plug, gently scrub the gunk and goo away with a wire brush. Keep in mind that although you don't need to clean new spark plugs, you do need to gap them. Some plugs are sold "pregapped," but I'd check them with a feeler gauge anyway. 7. Repeat the entire process for each additional plug, working on only one at a time. A good way to keep track of which plug belongs in which cylinder is to use an egg carton as a container and put the plugs into the carton's depressions in numerical order as you remove them from the engine. Either replace all the plugs with new ones or clean and reinstall all the old ones. Don't mix plugs in varying states of wear. If you do, your engine won't operate efficiently. If you find that a few of your old plugs aren't too worn and are in fairly good shape, but you need to replace the others, clean and regap the salvageable plugs and store them in your trunk compartment tool kit for emergencies.
